Work Environment\n

This remote role offers the flexibility of working from home while remaining integrally connected to our school community. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with the possibility of occasional evening shifts or weekend rotations to address the varied mental health needs of our students. There may also be on-call duties during critical situations requiring immediate attention. As part of the School Mental Health Team, collaboration is a key component, allowing for meaningful relationships with fellow professionals and active involvement in team discussions.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for students, taking into account their personal backgrounds, presenting issues, and psychological risk factors.

• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans that not only address mental health challenges but also promote emotional resilience and social integration.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-focused therapy to support diverse student needs.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions that nurture personal development, encourage emotional regulation, and enhance coping strategies.

• Work in partnership with psychiatrists, psychologists, and psychiatric nurse practitioners to coordinate a holistic approach to student care.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies, employing effective de-escalation techniques and referring to appropriate higher-level care if necessary.

• Educate students and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and community resources, fostering empowerment and understanding.
\n
• Maintain precise and current documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to all legal and ethical standards.

• Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to enhance collaborative practices and share insights that benefit student care.

• Stay informed about current laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines pertinent to mental health practices within school settings.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your role will primarily focus on a diverse population of students from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. As their primary mental health professional, you will address concerns such as anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and trauma. Your expertise will provide the necessary support to facilitate their emotional and psychological growth, ensuring they have the resilience to achieve academic success.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.

• A current and valid LCSW licensure in the state of Colorado is mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits\n
