About Alliance College-Ready Public Schools Alliance College-Ready Public Schools is one of the largest and most successful nonprofit public charter school networks in the nation, operating 25 high‑performing middle and high schools that serve nearly 13,000 scholars in Los Angeles’ diverse communities. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Provide Excellent College‑Preparatory Instruction to All Scholars. Develop and maintain a positive, achievement‑oriented, supportive, and collaborative culture of high expectations that motivates and inspires scholars to learn at college‑preparatory levels. Effectively execute the assigned curriculum and provide just‑in‑time supports to reach every scholar, regardless of academic background, disability, or English language fluency. Engage in teacher teams and individually prepare daily lesson plans, instructional materials, and exit tickets aligned to rigorous college‑ready standards. Use assessment data to determine differentiated re‑teaching needed to advance scholars toward mastery. Collaborate with peers to ensure scholars receive appropriate accommodations and support. Uphold Alliance values and standards of excellence. Provide all scholars opportunities aligned with the Alliance’s College‑Ready Graduate Profile, and support the 75%+ college completion goal. Build strong collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, families, scholars, and alumni through classroom activities and school‑based initiatives. IDEAL CANDIDATES Belief: Hold the belief that all scholars, regardless of economic or social demographics, deserve a quality education and can earn a four‑year college degree. Social Justice: Desire to teach in underserved communities and integrate anti‑racist, pro‑Black, student‑centered instruction. Culture: Demonstrate an ability to develop a positive, achievement‑oriented, supportive, and collaborative culture of high expectations that motivates and inspires scholars to learn at college‑preparatory levels. Data: Know how to use data, technology, and innovative teaching methods to monitor growth and scholar progress, drive classroom learning, and prepare all scholars to succeed in life after high school. Expertise: Have strong academic content expertise, instructional and classroom management skills, and in‑depth knowledge of effective evaluation and assessment techniques to drive scholar learning. Thrive in an environment of high expectations and collaboration. Mindset: Hold a growth mindset and commit to continuously honing their teaching craft. Relationship‑Building: Have strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship‑building skills with both children and adults. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Required: A California teaching credential in the assigned subject area(s) and a valid English Learner Authorization. California Single Subject Credential in Theater (Clear or Preliminary) or English with an “ENGL” or “ENGLX” authorization code (Clear or Preliminary). California Single Subject Credential with a Specific Supplementary Authorization in Theater (Clear or Preliminary). California University or District Intern Credential in Theater. Equivalent Out‑of‑State Credential transferring to California. For Middle School only: California Multiple Subject or Single Subject Credential with an Introductory Supplementary Authorization in Theater. Applicants without a credential must provide a transcript for evaluation to determine eligibility for an emergency teaching permit. Applicants without a current credential or a verifiable pathway toward obtaining a California teaching credential will not be considered. Professional development includes a two‑week orientation for new hires, ongoing school‑based and network‑wide training, and opportunities in the Emerging Leader Cadre program to develop leadership skills. Recognition includes the Teacher of the Year Award for exceptional classroom engagement and dedication. COMPENSATION Salary range: $70,000.00 – $152,500.00.
