Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and meticulously review patients' medical histories to devise appropriate care plans.
• Order and interpret diagnostic testing, including laboratory work and imaging studies, to assist in accurate patient diagnosis.
• Diagnose and manage diverse health conditions and illnesses, with a primary focus on family medicine.
• Develop patient-centered treatment plans for both chronic and acute conditions, adapting as necessary based on patient progress.
• Prescribe medications responsibly, monitoring patient adherence and responses to treatments.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient records and appointment schedules using electronic health record systems.
• Educate patients and their families on the nature of diseases, treatment options, preventive measures, and wellness initiatives.
• Deliver coordinated health care services while promoting health and well-being through lifestyle interventions.
• Engage in professional development activities to stay abreast of best practices and advancements in the field of primary care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will encompass managing a diverse patient population, ensuring that each individual's cultural and medical needs are respected and addressed. You will support patients of various ages and backgrounds, navigating challenges in access to care and providing tailored health education to empower them in managing their health.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited institution.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant in New York.
• At least two years of professional experience as a Physician Assistant in a family health clinic or similar healthcare setting.
• Specialization in family medicine strongly preferred.
• Extensive clinical experience in primary care and familiarity with healthcare regulations.
• Excellent communication skills coupled with a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment while exhibiting a positive attitude.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing patient health records.
• Possession of a valid DEA number is required.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems, enhancing the efficiency of patient documentation and management.
• Prior experience in inpatient hospital settings or emergency care is a significant advantage.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing effective patient education programs.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, contributing positively to patient care outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary ranging from USD 140,000 to 160,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
