Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the role of the Executive Assistant is to ensure a highly effective and efficient office of the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and to represent the executive, both internally and externally, in a manner that corresponds to the professional nature of the office. The role must represent the brand of The New York Times Company and meaningfully contribute to company-wide initiatives and communication in an increasingly digital media world. This role will directly partner with the Chief of Staff to the CHRO.
Responsibilities:
Manage an executive calendar, including vetting and prioritizing meeting requests and coordinating conference calls, interviews, meetings, and complex travel bookings.
Handle a heavy volume of requests from internal and external stakeholders, including answering inquiries, resolving problems, and making appropriate referrals.
Manage a high-volume inbox, using judgment to prioritize communications and flag critical items while resolving routine matters.
Attend important meetings, take notes, track action items, and ensure any supporting materials are prepared.
Plan events including offsite(s), town halls, lunches, dinners, and social gatherings.
Foster relationships with important contacts at different levels within and outside of the company.
Maintain confidentiality and discretion.
Be a resource for the CHRO's direct reports and department.
Perform other responsibilities, including preparing several reports and presentations, coordinating vacation schedules, updating listservs and desk booking, preparing, track and submitting expenses, invoices, and contracts.
Demonstrate support and understanding of our value of journalistic independence and a strong commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world.
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of tech industry experience supporting a or C-level executive.
Experience in understanding and adapting to different working styles to best support executives and teams.
3+ years of experience using Google Suite, Slack, Zoom, Workday, and similar tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a partnership, relationship-driven position with people inside and outside the company from diverse backgrounds, teams, levels, and working styles.
Experience working within a publicly traded environment and a quarterly business rhythm (earnings calls, quiet periods).
Experience navigating change at a moment's notice.
Experience in effectively interacting with all levels of management and other staff.

The annual base pay range for this role is between:
$95,000 - $105,000 USD
For roles in the U.S., dependent on your role, you may be eligible for variable pay, such as an annual bonus and restricted stock. Benefits may include medical, dental and vision benefits, Flexible Spending Accounts (F.S.A.s), a company-matching 401(k) plan, paid vacation, paid sick days, paid parental leave, tuition reimbursement and professional development programs.
