Audiologist

Job Type: Part-Time Compensation: Based on Experience Work Setting: In-Person Position Summary Integrated ENT Allergy & Immunology is seeking a compassionate, patient-focused, and highly skilled Audiologist to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. The Audiologist will evaluate, diagnose, and manage hearing and related auditory disorders while collaborating closely with ENT physicians and other clinical professionals to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive audiological evaluations for patients with suspected hearing loss and other auditory concerns. Perform and interpret diagnostic hearing assessments, including pure-tone audiometry, speech audiometry, tympanometry, and other clinically appropriate audiological testing. Evaluate hearing function and identify the type, degree, and configuration of hearing loss. Review patient histories, symptoms, physician referrals, and relevant medical information before and during audiological evaluations. Interpret audiological findings and clearly communicate results and recommendations to patients, families, caregivers, and referring providers. Develop individualized recommendations and treatment plans based on diagnostic findings and patient needs. Evaluate patients for hearing aids and other appropriate hearing‑assistive technologies. Recommend, select, fit, program, and adjust hearing devices when clinically appropriate and within the scope of the position. Provide hearing aid orientation, counseling, troubleshooting, follow‑up care, and ongoing device management. Counsel patients and families regarding hearing loss, communication strategies, hearing conservation, treatment options, and realistic expectations. Identify findings requiring additional medical evaluation and coordinate appropriate referrals to ENT physicians or other healthcare professionals. Collaborate closely with ENT physicians and clinical staff regarding patient diagnoses, treatment recommendations, and continuity of care. Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR). Ensure audiological testing equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, cleaned, and prepared for patient care in accordance with applicable standards. Follow infection‑control procedures and maintain a safe, clean, and professional clinical environment. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, professional standards, organizational policies, and applicable federal and New York State requirements. Stay current with developments in audiology, diagnostic testing, hearing technology, evidence‑based clinical practices, and professional standards. Participate in continuing education and professional development as required to maintain applicable licensure and credentials. Perform additional audiology‑related clinical responsibilities within the professional scope of practice as assigned. Required Qualifications Graduate degree in Audiology from an accredited or otherwise qualifying educational program. Current and valid New York State license as an Audiologist, or eligibility to obtain the required New York State licensure prior to practicing independently. Strong knowledge of diagnostic audiology, hearing disorders, auditory anatomy and physiology, and appropriate clinical testing procedures. Demonstrated ability to administer and accurately interpret audiological evaluations. Strong clinical documentation and electronic medical record skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain clinical findings and treatment recommendations clearly and compassionately to patients and families. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Preferred Qualifications Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree. Previous clinical experience in an ENT, otolaryngology, or physician‑practice setting. Experience working collaboratively with ENT physicians. Experience evaluating and treating both adult and pediatric patients. Experience with hearing aid evaluation, selection, fitting, programming, verification, troubleshooting, and follow‑up care. Familiarity with a variety of hearing aid manufacturers and hearing‑assistive technologies. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC‑A) through the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association (ASHA), if applicable. Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Knowledge, Skills & Competencies Comprehensive knowledge of audiological evaluation and diagnostic procedures. Strong clinical reasoning and problem‑solving abilities. Ability to accurately interpret audiological test results and identify appropriate next steps. Excellent interpersonal and patient‑service skills. Compassionate and professional approach to patients experiencing hearing loss or communication difficulties. Ability to educate and counsel patients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, hearing devices, and communication strategies. Strong attention to accuracy, documentation, and patient safety. Ability to manage multiple patients and clinical priorities in a fast‑paced medical environment. Effective collaboration with physicians, clinical staff, administrative staff, patients, and caregivers. Commitment to ethical practice, patient confidentiality, and evidence‑based care. Licensure & Compliance The successful candidate must maintain all licenses, registrations, and continuing competency requirements necessary to practice audiology in New York State. New York State requires individuals using the title Audiologist in a non‑exempt setting to be appropriately licensed. Candidates who are not yet fully licensed must satisfy all applicable New York State requirements before performing services requiring independent licensure.
