Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Physical Therapist include:

• Conducting thorough evaluations that encompass a comprehensive review of patient histories, performing specific assessments to better understand each patient's needs, and documenting results in a clear and actionable manner.
• Communicating evaluation findings and tailored treatment plans to patients and their families, actively involving them in goal-setting processes that align with their rehabilitation objectives.
• Implementing treatment protocols effectively by utilizing evaluation findings and adapting methods based on patient presentations and the evolving landscape of health care.
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals as required and proactively documenting any significant changes in the patient's condition to ensure timely modifications to care plans.
• Managing discharge planning and follow-up care, ensuring that all patient documentation reflects accurate and timely details of care including progress notes and discharge summaries.
• Demonstrating efficient time management while meeting productivity expectations, maintaining an organized schedule, and being punctual for team meetings.
• Contributing positively to departmental goals and adhering to governmental regulations and accreditation standards.
• Pursuing ongoing professional education and development opportunities to maintain and enhance skills.
• Ensuring an exceptional customer experience through flexibility, responsiveness, and effective communication.
• Engaging in initiatives aimed at removing barriers to healthcare access and actively participating in departmental CSI measurement discussions and Access NRH initiatives.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As part of our outpatient service, the Physical Therapist will treat a diverse clientele, including individuals recovering from injuries, surgeries, and chronic conditions. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• A current and valid physical therapy license in the state of Virginia or eligibility for such a license.
• American Heart Association's BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
