Assistant Controller/Director - $150,000+

A leading organization in the real estate services sector is seeking an Assistant Controller/Director to lead their accounting functions for a portfolio of managed properties. This is a highly impactful leadership role offering a salary range of $140,000-$150,000 annually, plus a bonus of at least 10%. Responsibilities Oversee preparation and review of financial statements for clients, partners, and lenders. Ensure compliance with agreements such as management, joint venture, and mortgage documents. Interpret lease documents and support complex transaction analysis. Collaborate with property and asset management teams on budgets, forecasts, and reconciliations. Manage onboarding and offboarding of acquisitions and dispositions. Verify lease data accuracy and maintain system integrity. Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff to uphold quality standards. Act as a point of contact for tax and audit engagements. Required Experience and Skills 7+ years of commercial real estate accounting experience. 3-5 years of leadership or management experience. Proficiency in preparing and reviewing financial statements for real estate. Experience with Yardi Strong understanding of CAM, tax escalations, and lease accounting. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work efficiently in a paperless, virtual environment. Preferred Skills & Experience Public accounting background or CPA certification.
