Senior Business Central Developer

Role Description

As a Senior Business Central Developer - D365, you’ll join an ERP consultancy and implementation team, working closely with clients to deliver Business Central solutions across implementation, development, customization and ongoing support. This is a client-facing position where you’ll contribute to projects for the company’s own clients, including a strong portfolio within the construction sector, rather than working on internal systems.

You’ll collaborate with consultants and project leads across different client projects, while developing a strong understanding of their requirements, systems and codebases. The role is suited to an experienced developer who enjoys becoming a trusted part of a team, building lasting relationships with clients and colleagues, and contributing to long-term project success.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain tailored customisations and extensions for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central using AL.
• Contribute throughout the ERP implementation lifecycle, from requirements gathering and configuration through to development, testing and go-live support.
• Build and maintain integrations between Business Central and third-party applications and APIs, including Power Platform where required.
• Support Dynamics NAV to Business Central upgrades and migrations where relevant.
• Investigate and resolve technical and functional issues reported by Storm’s clients.
• Create clear and comprehensive technical documentation covering custom development and system configuration.
• Collaborate closely with Storm’s consultants and project leads while supporting multiple client projects simultaneously.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ hands-on development experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, or Dynamics NAV with recent Business Central transition experience.
• Strong proficiency in AL language and the Business Central / VS Code development environment.
• Solid understanding of Business Central data structures, tables, pages and extension architecture.
• Experience with API-based and third-party system integrations.
• Comfortable working directly with external clients in a consultancy delivery environment, not just internal stakeholders.
• Strong written and spoken English, given daily collaboration with an Ireland/UK-based team and clients.
• Able to integrate as a genuine long-term team member, remaining present and responsive on Slack/Teams during Irish/UK working hours and building real relationships with clients and colleagues.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Power Platform, including Power BI, Power Automate and Power Apps, alongside Business Central.
• Prior experience specifically in construction, professional services or project-based client sectors.
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central certification(s).
• Experience migrating clients from legacy Dynamics NAV versions.
