This Locum-to-Perm OB/GYN physician role offers the opportunity to transition into a permanent position following a defined locum assignment. Ideal for physicians seeking career stability , a collaborative practice , and full-spectrum OB/GYN care in a supportive environment.

Coverage supports a temporary physician leave , with strong continuity and long-term potential.

Practice & Coverage Overview

• Combined office-based OB/GYN practice + hospital call coverage

• ‍⚕️ Team of physicians, certified midwives, and experienced APPs

• ‍⚕️ One-to-one clinical staff support per provider (CMA, LPN, RN)

• Level II Trauma Center with access to Level III NICU

• Average clinic volume: 25–30 patients per day

Obstetrics Scope of Practice

• Low-risk pregnancy management (majority of practice)

• Fetal heart rate interpretation (NST, CST, FSE)

• OB ultrasounds (performance & interpretation of Level I/viability scans)

• Routine and complicated vaginal deliveries

• C-sections, VBACs, breech and multiple births

• Repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations

Gynecology Scope of Practice

• Office procedures: IUDs, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP

• Surgical gynecology (provider preference):

  • Laparoscopic and open procedures

  • Tubal ligation, LOAs, chromotubation

  • Ectopic pregnancy management

  • Oophorectomy and cystectomy

Case Mix Snapshot

• 90% low-risk OB

• 10% high-risk OB

• 20% GYN

• 1–4 GYN surgeries/day (provider preference)

• C-section rate: ~10%

Technology & Support

• EMR: EPC

• Onsite lab and ultrasound

• Dedicated exam rooms (3 per provider)

• Seasoned ultrasound technicians and nursing staff

✅ Required Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in OB/GYN

• Active Virginia medical license (or willing to obtain)

• NPDB self-query (dated within 30 days)

• BLS & ACLS required

• Local providers only (mileage reimbursement only)

• Availability required at time of presentation

• Provider must state travel origin at name clear
