Maintenance Supervisor

Overview

Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance staff. Plan and implement maintenance and facility projects and initiatives. Maintenance supervisor is expected to perform all duties of maintenance staff in absence or to assist with work.

Responsibilities

1. Perform skilled repair or maintenance operations, using equipment such as hand or

power tools, hydraulic presses or shears, or welding equipment.

1. Installs, assembles, builds, repairs and maintains appliances, equipment, systems,

fixtures, components and structural items.

1. Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, in accordance

with labor hours (budget), work orders, departmental and Village projects, activities and

events.

1. Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance.

2. Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill

deficiencies.

1. Processes all employee paperwork, including payroll records.

2. Maintains grounds to ensure safety and appropriate appearance.

3. Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, or maintenance techniques,

operational procedures, or equipment use.

1. Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as hires, promotions, transfers,

discharges, or disciplinary measures.

1. Schedule, coordinate and oversee repairs, maintenance and installation of machines,

tools, equipment and utility systems to insure continuous operations.

1. Conduct machine, equipment and utility system inspections and test regarding

repair/maintenance needs and appropriate operational levels.

1. Develop, implement, and monitor methods, procedures and/or projects to minimize costs

and better utilize staff, including preventative maintenance program and quality

assurance guidelines and parameters.

1. Examine objects, systems, or facilities and analyze information to determine needed

installations, services, or repairs.

1. Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, and provide employee

safety training to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of

procedures and safety rules.

1. Requisition materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, or replacement parts.

2. Monitors, oversees and forecasts inventory utilization and stock needs.

3. Participate in budget preparation and administration, coordinating purchasing and

documentation and monitoring departmental expenditures.

1. Meet with vendors or suppliers to discuss products used in repair work.

1. Oversee, direct and prepare assigned areas for various activities and events.

2. Attend and participate in all appropriate meetings and training opportunities in order to

keep informed on current information and skill development.

oFederal, state and local regulations.

Qualifications

Education :

Associate's Degree (two year college or technical school)

Experience :

One year hands-on maintenance experience and one year previous managerial experience needed

Computer Skills:

Must have basic knowledge of computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to enter data, or process information. Familiar with basic level skills in email, word processing, and spreadsheets.

Valid Driver's License

Other Requirements

Certification in electrical, plumbing, or HVAC preferred
