Job Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments across various age groups by utilizing both standardized tools and observational assessments.
- Craft tailored treatment plans that target immediate and extended communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions that focus on communication enhancement, fluency improvement, and swallowing rehabilitation.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, medical staff, caregivers, and families to construct comprehensive care approaches.
- Provide educational resources to families to support patient progress beyond therapy sessions.
- Participate in inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless continuity of care during the rehabilitation journey.
- Maintain precise and timely clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational policies.
- Commit to professional growth by engaging in ongoing education and networking with peers.
Educational Background
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is necessary if not already certified by ASHA.
Required Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment.
