RN Cardiac Telemetry

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide specialized nursing care on the 4 South Cardiac/Telemetry unit, with occasional floating to other medical-surgical areas such as Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Respiratory, Observation, and ED/Med-Surg boarders. The RN is responsible for patient assessments, telemetry monitoring, medication administration, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care. This role requires strong proficiency in telemetry interpretation and Epic EMR usage, with a focus on cardiac and stepdown patient populations. Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care to cardiac and telemetry patients on the 4 South unit.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms accurately and complete telemetry competency on day one.
• Perform patient assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning.
• Float to other Med-Surg areas as needed, including Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Respiratory, Observation, and ED/Med-Surg boarders.
• Document patient care and clinical information accurately using the Epic EMR system.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Ohio.
• Minimum of 3 years recent/current experience in Telemetry and/or Stepdown nursing.
• Proficiency in telemetry rhythm interpretation and successful completion of telemetry competency on day one.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
• Current proficiency with Epic EMR system clearly documented; refresher training or 1:1 assistance will not be provided.
• Hospital experience required; submissions without hospital experience will not be considered.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience in multiple Med-Surg specialties such as Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Respiratory, and Observation.

Special Considerations:

• No on-call requirements.
• Must pass telemetry competency on day one or assignment will be terminated.
• Failure to demonstrate Epic proficiency will result in termination of the assignment.

Scheduling:

• 36 hours per week, night shift from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
• Every other weekend required.
