Summary:

The Sous Chef will assist in coordinating all kitchen operations, BOH banquet responsibilities, and any kitchen training/coaching needed. He/She will take the lead in maintaining consistency of all food storage & preparation, kitchen cleanliness, and record/log keeping. This professional will be entrusted to be flexible in availability and skills, with a very keen sense of culinary knowledge and integrity.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare and/or direct the preparation of food to be served, complying with all sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards
• Use supplies and facility properly to minimize loss, waste, and fraud
• Monitor incoming food product to ensure quality
• Teach/coach cooks on proper culinary techniques when needed
• Ensure all food going out of the kitchen is prepared to spec
• Ensure all storage areas are clean and organized
• Ensure all food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils are being respected, clean, and organized
• Possess the knowledge to correctly operate and clean all kitchen equipment
• Perform thorough inventory and random kitchen audits

Requirements

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of restaurant experience required
• 3+ years of experience in a kitchen supervisory role
