About the Position

Job Opportunity – Neuro ICU Registered Nurse (Night Shift) – Ohio

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week with every other weekend (weekend shifts defined as Friday and Saturday nights for night shift). 2:1 patient ratio with interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Rapid Response Teams, and Lift Teams.

Highlights:

• Complex neuro-critical care including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, subarachnoid hemorrhages, traumatic brain injuries, post-craniotomy patients, and neuromuscular diseases
• Advanced skills utilized daily: ventilator management, ICP monitoring, external ventricular drains (EVD), invasive neuromonitoring, and titration of vasoactive drips
• Epic EMR system with comprehensive charting and documentation workflows
• Bedside procedures including tracheostomy, PEG placement, central and arterial line placement, and EVD management
• Full interdisciplinary team support with dedicated respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams
• Floating required to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Current certifications: BCLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry interpretation, ventilator management, and intracranial pressure monitoring
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration, and management of stroke patients
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required (at least one from a manager or director; charge RN acceptable for second reference)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing
