Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer Transitional Housing Patrol in BROOKLYN, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter setting, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and report security-related concerns with integrity. DayTimeSat08:00 AM - 04:00 PMSun08:00 AM - 04:00 PMWhat You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a shelter location.
- Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, respectful, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services as directed.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility, entrances, common areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access to the location, verify authorized visitors and deliveries in accordance with site procedures, and maintain accurate activity and incident documentation.
- Support a welcoming, professional environment while maintaining awareness of shelter operations and following Allied Universal and site-specific reporting requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
