Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Practice, Department of Family Medicine; Residency, Northgate Position Overview Organization: Family Medicine Title: Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Practice, Department of Family Medicine; Residency, Northgate Position Description The Department of Family Medicine at the University of Washington invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Clinical Practice. Professorial rank is dependent upon record of academic and teaching success in addition to clinical expertise. We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. Faculty on the Clinical Practice track are expected to demonstrate excellence in clinical care, professionalism, and teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the broad spectrum of ambulatory clinical practice at UW Northgate clinic, including direct patient care and precepting residents and other learners. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. Core resident faculty members are expected to have a significant role in the education and supervision of residents and must devote a significant portion of their entire effort to resident education and/or administration, and must, as a component of their activities, teach, evaluate, and provide formative feedback to residents. Position Responsibilities Direct ambulatory patient care at UW Medicine Northgate clinic. Precept residents and other learners. Provide direct teaching and advising to learners. Contribute to residency administration and curriculum development. Attend the inpatient Family Medicine Service at UWMC Northwest as needed. Support the education and supervision of residents. Qualifications MD, DO, or foreign equivalent with current certification by the American Board of Family Medicine. Medical license or license eligibility in Washington State. Foreign medical graduates must demonstrate successful completion of all three steps of the USMLE or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. Evidence of commitment to teaching, service, and inclusive academic community. Compensation and Benefits The clinical full time equivalent (cFTE) will be 0.70 with an administrative component of 0.30. Base salary ranges: Assistant Professor: $16,750-$21,000 per month ($201,000-$252,000 annually). Associate Professor: $19,584-$22,500 per month ($235,008-$270,000 annually). Compensation also includes incentive through the UW Physicians practice plan. Base salary ranges are inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Only University compensation is included in university benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by the UW Physicians may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.
