Corporate Life Sciences Associate (Philadelphia or DC)

Summary DLA Piper is seeking an Associate to join our Corporate group with a focus on Life Sciences transactional work. Candidates will have 3-4 years of corporate transactional experience and a background in Life Sciences, including drafting license, collaboration, and supply agreements in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device space. The position is open to our Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. offices. Responsibilities Conduct thorough and comprehensive legal research and analysis to support transaction preparation and strategy. Draft well‑written, error‑free, and reasoned legal documents, including memos, contracts, and correspondence. Assist and manage a variety of complex transactions from inception to resolution, including trial preparation, negotiations, settlements, and closings. Build, maintain, and cultivate strong internal and external client relationships by providing support, regular updates, advice, and addressing concerns promptly. Work collaboratively with other lawyers and business professionals to develop innovative transaction strategies. Attend, support, and participate in high‑level legal activities such as client calls, meetings, and negotiations. Ensure rigorous compliance with legal standards and regulations, staying abreast of changes in law and legal precedents. Proactively pursue ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance legal knowledge, practice technology, management, and leadership skills. Contribute to firm citizenship and community involvement initiatives, including pro bono work for underserved communities. Desired Skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Admitted to practice in Philadelphia or Washington, D.C. Minimum 3 years of corporate transactional experience; direct and applicable AmLaw 100 firm experience preferred.
