This role offers a dynamic working environment with both day and night shifts available on a rotating schedule. Candidates may be assigned to day shifts, night shifts, or a combination of both, based on departmental needs and staffing requirements. Unit Overview The Oncology unit provides specialized care for patients with the following needs: Continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy administration Management of soft tissue malignancies receiving diagnostic services, chemotherapy, and symptom management Symptom management related to disease treatment or progression Management of comorbidities In this role, you will place a heavy emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention. Special Equipment B450 monitors GE telemetry system Bladder Scanner Alaris pumps Stryker beds Requirements Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required Current BCLS certification Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4 Must be willing to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity Previous travel experience preferred Experience with EPIC electronic health records is required Essential Skills Interpretation of dysrhythmias Accessing ports Management of arterial lines Blood product administration Care and management of central lines PICC line management IV insertion skills Assistance with chest tube insertion and removal Experience with high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs) Parking Options Agency staff have several parking permit options available: WMC Agency Permit - 24/7 access to the Wexner Medical Center Garage (guaranteed availability) WB Permit - Budget option allowing weekend/holiday access to 9th Ave East & West Garages and 24/7 access to West Campus surface lots, with shuttle service provided CXS Permit - Similar to WB Permit, but includes access to additional surface lots Please note that parking costs and options are subject to change per CampusParc policies.
