Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students across Ingham County as a vital member of a school-based Occupational Therapy team. Two positions are available, beginning in September: one full-time and one part-time, serving K-12th grade students within the county. Placement will be determined by the district but will remain within Ingham County.
Ideal candidates are passionate about empowering young learners and thrive in a collaborative educational setting. Your expertise will make a meaningful impact on students’ daily school experiences, helping them achieve greater independence and reach their academic potential.
Qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapy license for the state of Michigan is required
- Strong understanding of school-based OT practices and protocols
- Previous experience working with K-12 populations preferred
- Solid communication skills for collaborating with teachers, parents, and fellow therapists
- Ability to tailor interventions to diverse needs, supporting both individual and group progress
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students’ needs and develop individualized therapy plans in accordance with IEP goals
- Deliver direct OT services, adapting activities to suit each student’s abilities
- Consult with educators and families to foster a supportive learning environment
- Maintain thorough documentation, tracking progress and updating plans as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the multidisciplinary team
