Administrative Assistant
Join our academic community as an Administrative Assistant supporting the College of Arts & Sciences and Education. This dynamic position is perfect for a highly organized multi-tasker who loves variety, as you will manage everything from daily clerical duties and expense tracking to coordinating student event transportation with external vendors.
This role isn't merely managing schedules and paperwork; you will play a vital part in Bethel's mission to educate and equip students in a Christ-centered community. As a core member of our staff, you serve as a minister of the gospel by fostering a highly organized, supportive, and welcoming environment where faculty can teach and students can thrive.
Administrative Duties – 75%
- Provides administrative clerical support for assigned managers and directors.
- Establishes proper company record retention guidelines and assure proper record filings.
- Receives and obtains approval for expense reports.
- Approves and tracks various invoices.
- Tracks and approves department and manager/director bills.
- Tracks credit cards and makes bank deposits as required.
- Enters AR cash receipts into computer.
- Acts as backup for other Administrative Assistants.
Department Specific Duties - 25%
- Executes various duties assigned by specific manager/directors' areas of work.
Qualifications
Required Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred Education
Associate's degree
Required Experience
No prior experience.
Preferred Experience
1+ years of related experience.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktop and/or laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones.
The work environment involves working for a suburban, Christian university in which all employees are expected to have a demonstrated commitment and personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a commitment to the mission and values of the University, and an agreement to abide by all University policies.

Expected Hours of Work:
Typically, days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with the expectation to work specific schedules and hours as identified and communicated by management. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This is a 40 hour per week, 12 months per year position.
