Seeking a skilled Social Worker to join an interdisciplinary team within the Pupil Appraisal Department for the school year. This itinerant contract role involves working between 2–3 school campuses, collaborating with School Psychologists and Educational Diagnosticians. Rather than providing direct student counseling, you will focus on eligibility evaluations and appraisals to help determine if children qualify for Special Education services, ensuring each receives a tailored educational experience.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Louisiana Department of Education Certification and valid professional license required
• Experience in school-based or educational settings strongly preferred
• Expertise in conducting student evaluations, re-evaluations, administering relevant testing, and compiling reports
• Familiarity with pupil appraisal standards and special education qualification processes is ideal
• Ability to collaborate with intervention teams and coordinate multi-disciplinary assessments
• Capacity to manage a flexible, traveling schedule between multiple campuses as assigned
• District-specific background screening and drug testing mandatory, along with fingerprint clearance

Role Responsibilities:

• Conduct and document comprehensive student assessments for initial and ongoing eligibility for Special Education services
• Participate in SBLC/ABIT (Academic Behavior Intervention Team) meetings to review student progress and interventions
• Collaborate closely with a team of professionals to coordinate and implement intervention and evaluation plans
• Monitor and report intervention outcomes, ensuring compliance with district and state protocols
• Maintain detailed and confidential records for all assigned students
• Effectively communicate assessment findings and recommendations with educators and families
