Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to evaluate students' emotional and psychological states, identifying risk factors and developing individualized intervention strategies.

• Design and implement tailored treatment plans that prioritize students’ mental health challenges while promoting their emotional well-being and academic success.

• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care to support students facing a range of mental health issues.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions aimed at fostering personal growth, enhancing emotional regulation, and developing effective coping mechanisms.

• Collaborate closely with other mental health professionals, such as psychiatrists and psychologists, to design and coordinate comprehensive treatment plans.

• Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions and treatment progress in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.

• Ensure availability for on-call support as needed to address urgent mental health crises among our students.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this position, you will primarily work with a diverse population of students, including those dealing with grief, loss, and other mental health concerns associated with their experiences in the hospice center. Your role will be pivotal in helping students navigate their emotional landscapes, empowering them to express their feelings and develop resilience.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW) from an accredited institution is required; a Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) with LCSW licensure is preferred.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Connecticut.

• Strong understanding of mental health issues, treatment modalities, and best practices in the field.

Preferred Experience\n

Previous experience working in a school or hospice setting is highly desirable, with a focus on mental health services for adolescents.
