This position sits with our Swedish Match affiliate, Swedish Match North America LLC, which develops, manufactures, and sells quality products such as ZYN nicotine pouches and other smokeless tobacco products. Our vision is “A world without cigarettes” and we provide adult consumers with enjoyable alternatives that carry a lower risk than smoking. Location Houston, TX Chicago, IL Westchester, NY Responsibilities Leadership/People Development Reinforce the performance appraisal process through coaching to increase growth and development of the sales organization. Provide a development plan for each Account Rep to ensure they have the necessary knowledge, skills, and characteristics for further advancement, encouraging them through coaching. Evaluate Account Reps and recommend reward and recognition, requiring ongoing monitoring and upgrading of performance objectives and role standards. Participate in the evaluation and hiring process for Account Managers when needed, supported by Corporate Human Resources, the Business Development Manager, and the Region Director of Sales. Space and Business Vitals Develop, lead, and actualize a strategic business plan that grows operating profits and revenue annually with the assigned customer group. Focus on distribution, merchandising execution, identifying region growth opportunities, brand displacement, and category management. Understand and utilize syndicated data (I.R.I., Nielsen, and consumer) to identify space dimension opportunities, assist the BDM in setting region goals, developing the sales presentation, and supporting region planning. Identify and mobilize internal and external resources to actualize specific space dimension improvement goals for top strategic region customers (pricing, distribution, display, displacement, mental). Manage and allocate local trade and promotional spending budgets aligned with region guidelines. Assess and evaluate business results of assigned customers and recommend strategic changes if necessary. Operational/Structural/Conceptual Translate national and regional policies, procedures, operating strategies, and plans to account associates, including transferring knowledge and understanding of all personnel and vital business information. Create an environment of cooperation, credibility, candor, consistency, and commitment to exceptional performance, focusing on growth opportunities and encouraging individual thinking. Develop value‑added customer and consumer strategy to maximize the sales mission of increasing operating earnings and revenue. With Customers Develop and recommend strategies for internal and external customers and review their coverage. Develop preferred relationships with customers’ key decision-makers at all levels, becoming the customer’s Category Manager to gain respect and a “top of mind” position. Review customer accounts, including assessment processes, and recommend improved strategies where needed. Understand customer and consumer needs, provide value‑added products, and create leadership within the OTP category. Qualifications College Degree or equivalent experience in key account responsibility preferred. Minimum five years or more experience in the consumer goods area. Proven ability to communicate verbally and in writing; good presentation development and delivery skills are mandatory. Good analytical skills; strong computer skills with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Developed computer skills. Ability to work with various classes of trade accounts.
