HR/Accounting Associate

We are searching for a highly organized, detail-oriented HR / Accounting Associate to join our team.  This is a supportive, diverse role that blends human resources and accounting functions such as on-boarding and payroll processing, truck fleet compliance, general ledger coding, rosters, and certifications. The ideal candidate has a foundation and experience in general ledger Accounting, Human Resources, knowledge of truck fleets, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and flexibility to handle last-minute tasks.

Responsibilities:

·         Manage employee and independent contractors on-boarding, drug screening, and records

·         Timely processing of payroll, government reports, and vehicle registration renewals

·         Maintain internal rosters and lists using excel

·         Monitor expirations of driver’s licenses, physicals, vehicle registrations, certifications, and other credentials

·         Assist employees with and maintain accuracy of benefit and retirement enrollments

·         Support upper management with correspondence and other tasks

·         Manage electronic & physical communications with employees and independent contractors

·         GL coding vendor invoices related to drug screening & DOT compliance through Adobe

·         Respond appropriately and timely to internal and external requests

·         Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations

·         Other tasks as requested by management

Qualifications:

·         2-5 years experience in a Human Resources role with payroll processing experience

·         Minimum 2 years Accounting experience with emphasis on general ledger

·         Experience in the transportation industry a plus

·         Experience with Microsoft excel spreadsheets and Adobe Acrobat

·         Ability to stay focused and meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy and efficiency

·         Discretion and confidentiality a must with employee and company information

·         Courteous, professional manner with all levels within the organization

·         Computer literacy, proficient communication skills, Excel & Word

·         Positive Can-do attitude

·         Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
