Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (RN)

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality care to patients experiencing acute health issues. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in an emergency setting.
• Assess and monitor patients' conditions, including triaging critical cases.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Document patient care using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) specifically in EPIC.
• Assistant with specialty equipment such as Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun.
• Care for a diverse patient population, including newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.
• Participate in a range of emergency medical procedures and interventions.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Emergency Department with pediatric experience preferred.
• Current certifications: AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC.
• Ability to float as required across different units.
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with EMR systems.
• Drivers license with address matching demographic information is required.
• Travel experience is highly desired.

Additional Information

Shift hours for this position are from 14:30 to 03:00. Block scheduling is not guaranteed, and flexibility is essential. The position involves exposure to various patient conditions, including stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure. Candidates should be prepared to handle a high-pressure environment effectively.
