Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews, assessing clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health to guide initial treatment decisions.

• Document each client's progress meticulously, from the initial consultation through to the conclusion of their treatment plan.

• Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans suited to the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that foster a supportive therapeutic environment.

• Monitor clients' progress diligently, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.

• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to design and implement comprehensive intervention strategies.

• Follow up with external medical professionals for clients who may require hospitalization or additional medical care.

• Identify potential obstacles to recovery and implement strategies to mitigate these challenges.

• Provide guidance and support to family members and primary caregivers dealing with mental health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The mental health counselor will work with a diverse client base, including adolescents, adults, and families dealing with various mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship problems, and addiction disorders. Qualifications\n

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A successful score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR), including systems like AVATAR, to maintain accurate client documentation.

• Knowledge of the interplay between mental health conditions and physical health, particularly in an outpatient setting.

• Familiarity with the best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, allowing for effective and compassionate interactions with clients.
