Position Overview

Work Environment

The surgical center is a bustling, onsite facility located in the heart of Smithtown, a suburb known for its community-oriented ambiance and accessibility. You will be working Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, with potential adjustments for surgical cases. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage patients' overall health and well-being, ensuring timely interventions and comprehensive care.
• Conduct thorough physical examinations and review detailed medical histories to inform treatment plans.
• Order and analyze diagnostic tests, including blood tests, imaging studies, and other relevant assessments to diagnose conditions.
• Stay current with advancements in primary care and surgical processes through continuous learning and professional development.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for chronic and infectious diseases, tailored to individual patient needs.
• Prescribe medications and monitor patient responses to ensure effectiveness and address any side effects.
• Diagnose and treat a variety of health conditions and illnesses consistent with a family medicine focus.
• Promote preventive care and healthy lifestyle practices among patients.
• Maintain accurate and organized patient records and manage schedules to enhance operational efficiency.
• Provide educational resources and guidance to patients and their families on disease management, preventive care, and lifestyle modifications.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant will primarily serve patients undergoing surgical procedures and those requiring post-operative care, as well as individuals managing chronic conditions within the Family Medicine scope. The focus is on providing high-quality medical attention to a diverse patient demographic, ensuring that each patient receives personalized, compassionate care tailored to their specific health needs.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies or a related field.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant.
• Proven experience (minimum of 2 years) as a Physician Assistant in a family health clinic or a similar surgical setting.
• Specialization in family medicine with extensive clinical experience in primary care.
• In-depth knowledge of health regulations and patient care standards.
• Exceptional communication skills to ensure effective interaction with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong ethical foundation and dedication to patient-centered care.
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude and the capability to handle a wide variety of patient needs.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and an active DEA number is required.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a surgical center or hospital setting, particularly in procedures related to Family Medicine.
• Hands-on experience in performing therapeutic procedures and managing patients in an active surgical environment.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 150,000 to 180,000 annually.
