Work Environment

Located in a well-equipped surgical center, the work environment promotes a dynamic and engaging atmosphere for healthcare delivery. As a Physician Assistant in our team, you will enjoy a structured work schedule from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a healthy work-life balance while providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients suffering from chronic pain, utilizing advanced diagnostic skills and evaluating medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests to inform treatment decisions.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare team members, ensuring each patient receives personalized care to manage their pain effectively.
• Perform a variety of procedures related to pain management, including but not limited to joint injections, nerve blocks, and other minimally invasive interventions, with a focus on patient safety and comfort.
• Engage directly with case management teams to facilitate efficient discharge planning, ensuring seamless transitions from clinic to home or inpatient settings.
• Maintain meticulous documentation for all patient encounters, which adheres to insurance requirements and supports claims management processes, including managing appeals for any denials.
• Participate actively in both inpatient and outpatient consultations, providing expertise for cases that require specialty knowledge and potentially being on-call for urgent situations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The physician assistant in this role will primarily work with patients experiencing chronic pain conditions that significantly affect their daily lives. The diverse patient demographic may include individuals recovering from surgical procedures, patients managing long-standing pain syndromes, or those with acute injuries. Qualifications

• Must possess a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution.
• Hold an active Physician Assistant license in the state of New York.
• A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in pain management or a related field is required.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong ability to engage effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds.
• A demonstrated capacity for organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Preferred Experience

While only 3 years of clinical experience is required, candidates with additional training or certifications in pain management techniques, such as interventional procedures or behavioral health strategies, will be favored. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to ensure efficient patient data management and documentation can also enhance your candidacy.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from $150,000 to $180,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
