Work Environment

As a Physician Assistant in our Surgical Center, you will work onsite within a collaborative multidisciplinary team. Your typical work schedule will be Monday to Friday during regular business hours, though occasional evening or weekend shifts may be required to accommodate patient needs. Flexibility in scheduling is essential to provide comprehensive care tailored to our patients' evolving requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations and detailed pain assessments to identify the underlying causes of patients' pain. This evaluation will take into account physical, psychological, and social factors affecting their health.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that combine medical, pharmacological, interventional, and non-pharmacological strategies aimed at effective pain management.
• Provide continuous care for patients suffering from chronic pain conditions, focusing on enhancing their functionality, reducing pain intensity, and improving their overall quality of life.
• Manage acute pain resulting from injuries or medical procedures by utilizing evidence-based practices, ensuring minimal discomfort and promoting rapid healing.
• Prescribe pain-relief medications while closely monitoring patient responses, side effects, and adherence to treatment plans.
• Perform and supervise interventional procedures, including nerve blocks and epidural injections, to ensure effective pain management.
• Educate patients about self-care techniques, pain management strategies, and necessary lifestyle modifications that empower them to participate actively in their care.
• Maintain timely and accurate electronic health records (EHR), documenting patient evaluations, treatment decisions, and follow-up care in compliance with regulations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant will serve a diverse patient population, including those suffering from chronic pain conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, and neuropathic pain, as well as post-surgical patients requiring ongoing pain management support. Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required.
• Must have a current and valid Physician Assistant license to practice in New York.
• Strong clinical knowledge in Pain Management, ideally with relevant certifications.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems to maintain accurate patient documentation.

Compensation and Benefits
