Work Environment

The Physician Assistant will work onsite at our Surgical Center in Babylon, New York, in a dynamic and supportive medical office. The typical work schedule runs from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, offering a predictable work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant focused on Pain Management, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive evaluations and diagnosing patients suffering from chronic pain conditions, and identifying appropriate candidates for interventional procedures.
• Implementing chronic medication management strategies tailored to meet patient-specific therapeutic goals.
• Prescribing medications and thoroughly explaining treatment options and progression to both patients and their families to ensure understanding and compliance.
• Consulting regularly with supervising physicians and other healthcare team members to develop cohesive treatment plans.
• Performing extensive physical examinations to diagnose acute and chronic illnesses based on clinical findings and diagnostic test results.
• Formulating, initiating, and adjusting patient management plans in accordance with the latest clinical guidelines and in consultation with your supervising physicians.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will work specifically with patients managing chronic pain, which may result from various conditions including musculoskeletal disorders, post-surgical pain syndromes, and neuropathic pain. You will be assisting a diverse patient population in a compassionate manner, with a strong focus on improving their quality of life and enabling them to engage in daily activities with reduced pain.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution.
• Current and active licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in New York.
• Minimum of three years of experience as a Physician Assistant, with a focus on pain management preferred.
• Exceptional communication skills, allowing you to articulate complex medical information effectively to patients and families.
• A strong organizational skill set, demonstrating an ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple patient cases simultaneously.
• A solid commitment to team-oriented care within a performance-driven healthcare environment.

Preferred Experience

Ideal candidates will have prior experience in pain management, particularly with interventional procedures or medication management, in order to effectively fulfill the demands of the role. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and other relevant medical software is advantageous, as well.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this full-time Physician Assistant role is competitive, ranging from USD 150,000 to 180,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
