Work Environment

This position is based in our state-of-the-art surgical center, where you'll work alongside surgeons, nurses, and healthcare professionals dedicated to pain management. The facility is equipped with the latest technology, enabling efficient and effective treatment strategies. Operating on a full-time schedule, this role entails a Monday to Friday work week from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for work-life balance while empowering you to focus on patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations by performing physical examinations, gathering patient histories, and utilizing diagnostic tests to assess both acute and chronic pain conditions.
• Formulate personalized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians, which may include prescribing medications, physical therapy protocols, and interventional pain management strategies.
• Continuously monitor and evaluate patient health status, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to meet therapeutic goals.
• Engage with patients and their families, clearly explaining treatment options and goals to enhance understanding and compliance.
• Document all patient interactions, evaluations, and management plans in accordance with healthcare best practices and regulatory guidelines.
• Participate in weekly team meetings to discuss patient progress and collaborate on complex cases, fostering a team-oriented approach to patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily involves working with diverse populations suffering from pain due to various conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, post-surgical pain, and neuropathic pain syndromes. Understanding the nuances of each patient's experience is essential, as many individuals seek relief from debilitating discomfort that impacts their daily activities and overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies or an equivalent medical degree is required.
• Licensure: Active and valid Physician Assistant license to practice in New York State, in good standing.
• Skills: Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills are essential for effectively managing patient care and collaborating with the healthcare team.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physician Assistant, specifically in pain management or a related field, is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced setting, managing multiple patient cases simultaneously.
• Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) systems to document and track patient care efficiently.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $150,000 to $180,000 per year, commensurate with your level of experience and credentials.
