Work Environment

This full-time position takes place onsite at our state-of-the-art Surgical Center in East Islip. You will be part of a collaborative team of healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, and other Physician Assistants. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a well-structured work-life balance. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including obtaining detailed medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests.
• Provide patient education on health management, pain relief strategies, and disease prevention.
• Diagnose conditions and formulate treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs, including prescribing medications and therapies as appropriate.
• Perform follow-up visits to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Coordinate care with other medical professionals and specialists to ensure holistic treatment of complex cases.
• Utilize electronic health records (EHR) to document patient interactions and maintain accurate medical records.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and operational efficiencies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse patient population that includes children and adults suffering from acute and chronic pain conditions. Your ability to address physical as well as psychosocial factors affecting pain will be crucial. Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution.
• Active licensure as a Physician Assistant in New York State.
• 2-3 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting, ideally focusing on pain management.
• Exceptional communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Proficiency in using medical technologies and electronic health record systems to streamline patient care.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in pain management will be highly advantageous, given the specialized nature of this role.

Compensation and Benefits
