Watts & Associates is working discreetly with a highly regarded Am Law 200 ranked international law firm seeking a Patent Agent to join its Dallas, TX office on an in office basis. This is a strong opportunity for a patent prosecution focused professional who enjoys working closely with attorneys on sophisticated technology matters, with the chance to contribute across prosecution, counseling, and select dispute support needs. The Dallas team works with colleagues across offices as needed, with an emphasis on quality, responsiveness, and practical commercial judgment. The Opportunity The Patent Agent will support patent attorneys on drafting and prosecuting US patent applications, responding to USPTO office actions, conducting prior art searching, and coordinating with clients and foreign counsel. The role may also include assistance on litigation and transactional matters requiring technology fluency, including helping attorneys prepare for depositions and other case related technical work. Ideal Candidate Profile The firm is seeking a Patent Agent with: Admission to the USPTO At least 2 years of patent preparation and prosecution experience as a patent agent or technical advisor, with entry level candidates eligible for USPTO admission also considered Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field, with advanced degrees a plus Excellent academic credentials, strong analytical skills, and clear and precise legal and technical writing Ability to collaborate effectively in a global, culturally diverse team environment Why This Opportunity Stands Out This role offers steady hands on prosecution work with meaningful attorney interaction, strong drafting and client communication exposure, and a structured in office environment for candidates who prefer consistent in person collaboration and mentorship.
