Key Responsibilities

As a Mental Health Counselor, your key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting in-depth assessments and screenings of clients to identify their unique substance abuse history and mental health status.
• Developing tailored treatment plans that address both addiction and any co-occurring mental health disorders.
• Facilitating engaging individual and group therapy sessions using established evidence-based approaches, ensuring that clients are actively involved in their recovery processes.
• Collaborating closely with a diverse treatment team to ensure that clients receive integrated care that considers all their health needs.
• Educating clients and their families about the nature of addiction and the recovery process to aid in building a strong support system.
• Documenting patient progress and maintaining accurate records in adherence to HIPAA regulations and organizational standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with individuals struggling with substance use disorders, many of whom may also be facing mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety. Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

• A valid license as either an LCMFT, LCPC, LCP, LCSW, LSCSW, or PsyD.
• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
• Demonstrated skills in therapeutic practices and a strong belief in the power of motivation and support to drive client success.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to foster meaningful relationships with clients and collaborate with team members effectively.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, the following qualifications are preferred:

• Specialized training or certification in addiction counseling or co-occurring disorders.
• Previous experience in a telehealth or remote mental health setting.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems, which will enhance your ability to maintain client documentation proficiently.

Compensation and Benefits
