Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Commercial Litigation Attorney to join our litigation team and represent lenders, developers, contractors, and corporate clients in complex disputes. The ideal candidate will handle matters across banking, foreclosure, mortgage, real estate, and construction law, managing cases from intake through resolution or trial. This role requires strong courtroom presence, excellent writing and analytical skills, and the ability to advise clients strategically while delivering practical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload of commercial litigation matters, including banking, foreclosure, mortgage enforcement, real estate, and construction disputes.
• Prepare and file pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court documents in state and federal courts; handle e-filing and docket management.
• Conduct and supervise discovery activities, including drafting discovery requests and responses, reviewing documents, and taking and defending depositions.
• Appear in court and administrative hearings; conduct trials, evidentiary hearings, and settlement conferences when required.
• Counsel clients on litigation strategy, risk assessment, and potential business solutions; maintain regular communication and client updates.
• Negotiate settlements, resolve disputes through mediation or arbitration, and pursue/defend alternative dispute resolution as appropriate.
• Manage litigation budgets and timelines; coordinate with experts, consultants, and outside counsel as needed.
• Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and paralegals; review work product for accuracy and quality.
• Contribute to business development efforts by cultivating client relationships, preparing proposals, and participating in industry events.
• Stay current on relevant statutes, regulations, and case law affecting banking, foreclosure, mortgage, real estate, and construction litigation.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active admission to the state bar in good standing.
• Minimum of 4+ years of commercial litigation experience, with demonstrated experience in banking, foreclosure, mortgage, real estate, and/or construction matters.
• Proven courtroom and motion practice experience, including hearings, depositions, and trials.
• Exceptional legal research, drafting, and oral advocacy skills; attention to detail and strong analytical ability.
• Experience managing cases from intake through trial and coordinating with clients, experts, and co-counsel.
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing deadlines, litigation budgets, and heavy caseloads efficiently.
• Strong interpersonal skills, client-focused mindset, and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Familiarity with litigation tools and e-filing systems; proficiency with Microsoft Office and document review platforms.
• Business development experience or willingness to participate in client development and networking activities.

Salary:

$125k-$150k/yr base DOE
