Key Responsibilities As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will: Conduct individualized remote counseling sessions for clients, involving individuals, couples, and families using secure video conferencing tools. Perform comprehensive assessments to gain insights into clients' mental health issues, and develop tailored treatment plans with clearly defined, measurable goals. Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions to address a variety of emotional and behavioral issues, ensuring clients receive the support they need. Provide support and intervention during crisis situations, prioritizing the immediate safety and well-being of clients through active listening and crisis management techniques. Maintain accurate, confidential client records and progress notes, ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical standards of practice. Educate clients on mental health conditions, customization of coping strategies, and available resources that empower them to manage their mental health effectively. Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including referring providers and community resources, to promote comprehensive care for clients. Stay informed on the latest research and developments in mental health counseling, participating in ongoing professional development and training opportunities. You will be working with a diverse population that may include individuals facing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, and other mental health concerns. Your role is fundamental in helping these clients navigate their unique situations and achieve their personal objectives. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess: Current licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of New York. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field. At least two years of experience providing mental health counseling services. Experience in a remote or online counseling setting is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills to build trustful relationships with clients. A thorough understanding of telehealth platforms and technology. Commitment to ethical decision-making and confidentiality in all aspects of practice. Capability to work autonomously while also thriving in a collaborative team setting. A flexible schedule to accommodate varying client needs, including evenings or weekends as necessary. Preferred Experience While not mandatory, preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications: Master's degree or higher in counseling or a closely related field. Previous training or certification in evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as CBT, DBT, or trauma-informed care. Experience working with diverse populations and an understanding of culturally competent practices. Compensation and Benefits Compensation for this role is competitive, with a salary range of USD 80,000 to USD 100,000 annually, complemented by a sign-on bonus.
