Extrusion OperatorThe Extrusion Operator sets up, operates, and monitors extrusion machinery in a production environment to ensure consistent, high-quality output. This role involves working on a designated shift, following established procedures, and using hand and power tools to support efficient manufacturing operations.ResponsibilitiesOperate extrusion machines safely and efficiently according to established procedures and production schedules.Set up, adjust, and monitor extrusion equipment to maintain proper machine settings and product specifications.Perform general production tasks, including assembly and handling of materials, to support continuous workflow.Use hand tools and power tools to perform routine tasks, adjustments, and minor maintenance on equipment.Inspect products during and after extrusion to ensure quality standards and dimensional accuracy are met.Record basic production data and measurements using basic math skills to verify correct outputs and material usage.Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area around extrusion and production equipment.Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve production issues and improve processes.Identify basic mechanical issues with equipment and communicate or assist in troubleshooting as needed.Adhere to shift schedules and production targets while maintaining consistent quality and productivity.Essential SkillsMechanical aptitude and the ability to understand how machines and tools operate.Previous manufacturing or production experience in a factory or industrial setting.Basic math skills for measurements, counts, and simple calculations related to production.Ability to operate and monitor production machinery safely and consistently.Comfort using hand tools and power tools in a manufacturing environment.Attention to detail to ensure product quality and adherence to specifications.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and standard operating procedures.Reliability in maintaining attendance and working assigned shifts, including potential off-shifts.Additional Skills & QualificationsExtrusion machine operating experience is a plus.Experience in general production, assembly, or machine operation is beneficial.Strong mechanically inclined with interest in equipment and processes.Willingness to learn new machinery and production techniques.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.Why Work Here?You join a stable manufacturing environment that values reliable, hands-on contributors and offers clear shift options with pay differentials for evening and overnight work. You work on one of three structured shifts: 1st shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 2nd shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. with a shift differential, or 3rd shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. with a higher differential. The environment involves regular use of extrusion machinery, general production equipment, hand tools, and power tools. You spend most of your time on your feet, working near operating machines and assembly areas, following safety protocols and standard operating procedures in a typical industrial production setting.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Grafton, MA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
