Job Opportunity – Obstetrics & Gynecology Physician (Locum Tenens) – Kentucky

Start Date: Ongoing, 6-7 shifts per month with potential for additional coverage

Location: Western Kentucky

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM (24-hour shifts), call coverage required

Highlights:

• EMTALA call coverage supporting a hospital-based labor and delivery unit with 700-800 deliveries annually
• Collaborative practice model with midwives managing their own patients; physicians provide backup and handle complicated deliveries
• Low-volume C-section practice; daily midwife coverage reduces routine callback hours
• EPIC EMR system with onsite labs, ultrasound, and Level II nursery support
• In-house and beeper call with manageable patient volume (1-6 patients per day on average)
• Travel expenses reimbursed including airfare, lodging, rental car, and mileage

Requirements:

• Board Certification by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (required)
• Active Kentucky medical license or Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) eligibility (required)
• Current BLS certification (required)
• Active DEA registration (required)
• Proficiency in routine and complicated deliveries including C-sections, VBAC, breech presentations, multiple births, and repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations
• Credentialing process takes approximately 90 days; temporary privileges available if needed
