Work Environment

This position is based onsite, in a nurturing healthcare atmosphere that prioritizes patient health and staff collaboration. You will work closely with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals, fostering an environment of teamwork and shared knowledge. Initially, you will undergo a structured training period of three months, consisting of five 8-hour shifts per week. Following this period, the schedule will transition to four 10-hour shifts, allowing for a better work-life balance and dedicated time for patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including obtaining detailed medical histories and performing thorough physical examinations tailored to each patient's unique cardiovascular concerns.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as ECGs and echocardiograms, to evaluate and monitor patients' heart health.
• Prescribe appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions based on established protocols and evolving patient needs.
• Document all patient interactions, treatments, and updates thoroughly in the electronic health record (EHR), ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Maintain clear and timely communication with physicians, patients, and their families regarding treatment plans, progress, and any necessary adjustments.
• Participate in patient education efforts, providing guidance on lifestyle modifications that support heart health and overall well-being.
• Occasionally perform hospital rounds to assess patients in acute settings, ensuring continuity of care during transitions from hospital to outpatient settings.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Nurse Practitioner will primarily focus on adult patients with various cardiovascular conditions, including hypertension, congestive heart failure, and post-operative cardiac care. Our patient population represents a diverse demographic in Scarsdale, requiring cultural competency and sensitivity when delivering care. Your interaction with patients will emphasize empathy and clear communication, vital for ensuring effective management of chronic cardiac conditions.

Qualifications

• A Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of New York.
• A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a relevant healthcare setting.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate with healthcare teams and engage effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 150,000 to 160,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
