Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations and preliminary interviews, accurately documenting each client's journey from initial consultation to discharge.

• Design and implement tailored treatment and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups based on unique assessments and evidence-based interventions.

• Facilitate productive individual and group therapy sessions aimed at enhancing coping strategies and fostering emotional resilience.

• Continuously monitor and assess client progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary to maintain optimal therapeutic outcomes.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and social workers, to create comprehensive intervention strategies.

• Assist in managing client referrals both internally and externally, ensuring that clients receive comprehensive care aligned with their treatment goals.

• Support families and primary caregivers in navigating mental health challenges, providing them with relevant resources and education.

• Engage in regular follow-ups with clients who have been admitted to hospitals, ensuring continuity of care and recovering process monitoring.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent designation in New York State.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Proficient in electronic health record systems, ideally with experience using AVATAR or similar platforms.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, showcasing an ability to convey complex information clearly and empathetically.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrating a genuine compassion for clients’ struggles.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of 2 years of prior experience in a mental health counseling role.

• Demonstrated knowledge in managing clients with co-occurring disorders and chronic mental health conditions.

• Experience working in a community health setting or with underserved populations is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
