Touchstone Psychotherapy Center is seeking a dedicated and licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our compassionate team on a full-time basis. This role is primarily remote but will also involve working in our outpatient office located in the Bronx, New York. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health counseling, demonstrating both clinical expertise and an unwavering commitment to improving the lives of our clients. We offer a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, sign-on bonus included, as well as comprehensive benefits.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough initial evaluations of clients, documenting detailed case histories from the first consultation through the completion of treatment.
\n
• Assess clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health using structured diagnostic tools and interviews.
\n
• Design tailored intervention and recovery plans that reflect the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate engaging and effective individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
\n
• Monitor client progress and adapt treatment plans as necessary to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to coordinate comprehensive care.
\n
• Follow up on patients who have been admitted to the hospital, maintaining close communication with their treatment teams.
\n
• Identify and mitigate behaviors that might hinder recovery, striving to provide holistic support to clients and their families.

• Provide resources and guidance to family members and primary caregivers, helping them support their loved ones who face mental health challenges.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Must have current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.

• A passing score on the NCE and/or the NCMHCE is necessary.
\n
• Previous professional experience in a mental health counseling role is essential.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, is advantageous.

Preferred Experience\n

• Demonstrated experience addressing underlying physical and emotional health conditions, including addiction disorders.

• Awareness of best practices as advocated by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Strong knowledge of the pharmacological impacts of medications prescribed by medical specialists.

• Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities, along with outstanding interpersonal skills and an empathetic disposition.
