Senior Solutions Architect

Role Description

As a Senior Solutions Architect within the AWS WWPS Partner team, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build broad use of AWS services—including AI/ML, high-performance computing (HPC), advanced analytics, digital engineering, and manufacturing systems modernization—directly with our ecosystem of defense-sector systems integrators, consulting and technology partners.

You will serve as a dedicated technical resource for high-growth defense partners navigating critical cloud adoption and modernization initiatives, leading strategic engagement at the executive level with minimal oversight. Your broad responsibilities will include:

• Owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects
• Defining implementation architectures across compute, data, machine learning, and operational tooling
• Responding to RFPs
• Developing deep expertise in AWS technologies as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform
• Serving as a subject matter expert on defense industry workflows, compliance frameworks, and the unique technical challenges of mission-critical environments

You will drive architectural decisions across multiple concurrent workstreams and ensure AWS is positioned as the strategic infrastructure partner of choice during critical scaling periods. This role requires the ability to operate independently, communicate credibly with both technical and executive stakeholders, and maintain momentum across complex, multi-domain engagements.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and currently possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance. This position may require up to 25% travel.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
• 4+ years of technology-related sales, business development, or sales engineering/consulting experience
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above
• 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
• Experience in a technical role within a sales organization
• Bachelor's degree
• Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
• Experience with AI/ML, HPC, digital engineering, advanced manufacturing, or data engineering workloads on AWS
• Familiarity with defense compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, CMMC, DoD SRG, ITAR)
