Tech - MLT/Medical Technologist/Clinical Lab Scientist

Job Description

Job Summary:
Performs laboratory tests and procedures to deliver accurate and timely diagnostic results. Maintains proficiency across pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases to support healthcare providers in patient care. Ensures compliance with all safety, privacy, and regulatory standards in a fast-paced clinical laboratory setting.

Responsibilities:

Execute a variety of laboratory procedures including phlebotomy, specimen processing, and complex testing under CLIA regulations.
Maintain quality control and quality assurance protocols to ensure test accuracy and reliability.
Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, policies, and safety guidelines.
Assist with blood inventory management, blood product preparation, and issuing for transfusions if assigned to Transfusion Service.
Document and communicate test results clearly and promptly to healthcare providers.
Participate in ongoing training and complete required modules during orientation.

Qualifications:

Possess a valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) license.
Minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience in a clinical setting.
Proficient in performing waived, moderate, and high complexity testing per CLIA standards.
Ability to follow precise protocols and maintain detailed documentation.
Demonstrate strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
Hold current certifications such as AHA or ARC, with valid expiration dates.
