Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

In this rewarding contract role near Stillwater, MN, passionate educators have the chance to make a direct impact as Early Childhood Special Education Teachers. Two opportunities are available: a full-time (1.0) position with a dedicated schedule of 37.5 hours per week, and a flexible half-time (.5) option, ideal for candidates seeking a less traditional workweek. Each assignment centers on working with two small groups of 6-8 students in self-contained early childhood settings.

In the full-time role, your week will be structured with classroom instruction Tuesday through Friday, divided between a morning and an afternoon group. Mondays are designed for assessing student progress, managing paperwork, or collaborating in meetings, and may also involve serving as a substitute within the Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) program as needed. Both positions are bolstered by the support of two full-time paraeducators in each classroom.

Key Qualifications:

• Minnesota Tier 4 Early Childhood Special Education teaching license (required)
• Previous experience in special education or early childhood settings preferred
• Ability to manage and adapt instruction in self-contained classrooms
• Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
• Dedication to fostering inclusive and developmentally appropriate environments

Responsibilities:

• Lead, plan, and deliver instruction for two groups of ECSE students
• Create individualized learning plans and maintain progress documentation
• Collaborate with paraeducators and interdisciplinary teams
• Participate in meetings and professional development as scheduled
• Support students’ social-emotional and academic growth

The .5 position offers flexible days and hours, including potential for M-F mornings or a mix of full and half days. This part-time role may also offer the possibility to expand to full-time, depending on program needs.
