Details Hospital-based Labor and Delivery unit with 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms Facility performs 200-300 births per month Patient population includes labor, preterm labor, and high-risk antepartum cases Duties include circulating, OB-GYN support, pre-op, post-op, and scrub roles Attends all deliveries including high-risk deliveries and GYN surgeries Provides couplet care, low-risk antepartum care, and transition nursery support Staffing ratio ranges from 1:1 to 1:3 Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM Floating required to Post-Partum and NICU units based on skill set May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location Requirements Active WA or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required Prior travel nursing experience required Epic EMR experience required Required certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate ACLS certification preferred Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood and blood product administration, central line maintenance (CVC/PICC), and medication administration Experience with anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy required Labor and delivery management skills required including assisting with high-risk deliveries, circulating and recovering C-sections, and sterile vaginal exams Pain management skills required including epidural anesthesia and use of IV PCA Knowledge of fetal monitoring and IUPC placement/calibration required Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required Additional Information Teaching hospital environment Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate, unless local Former Providence permanent staff must be separated for at least 3 months and reside outside a 50-mile radius to be eligible to return as a traveler Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated First-time travelers will not be considered for this position Care responsibilities include antepartum care, postpartum care, obstetrical triage, and wound assessment Isolation precautions and PPE protocols must be followed American Traveler Job ID P-740182.
