Staff AccountantLakewood NJ 85k-120kOur client, a growing organization is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented staff accountant to join our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong accounting foundation who enjoys keeping financial operations running smoothly. This role is ideal for a smart, proactive professional who can manage multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy across accounting, bookkeeping, and administrative financial functions.Key Responsibilities:Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure all accounts are balanced accurately.Record and post accounting entries as needed (this role is not heavily focused on journal entries).Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.Maintain loan schedules by entering and updating information for numerous loans within the accounting system.Monitor tax filings and ensure all legal entities are accurately reflected on tax returns.Prepare and process sales tax filings and 1099 reporting.Support bookkeeping activities, including data entry, account maintenance, and financial record cleanup.Maintain accurate accounting records and assist with improving financial data organization.Review daily scanned mail through the company's digital mail platform, ensuring important notices, legal correspondence, or potential lawsuits are identified and routed appropriately.Coordinate weekly check deposits by visiting the bank or helping implement a more efficient electronic submission process.Assist with various accounting and finance projects as needed.Qualifications:5+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or staff accountant experience.Strong understanding of bank reconciliations is required.Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, taxes, and 1099 reporting.Comfortable working with multiple entities and maintaining organized financial records.Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.Strong Excel and accounting software experience. Preference for experience with Sage Intaact.Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.Adaptable and comfortable with AIWe're looking for someone who is reliable, analytical, and takes ownership of their work.
