Job Details Job Location: PSIS - Omak, WA 988410000 Salary Range: $20.34 - $24.71 per hour DOE Closing Date: July 5, 2026 Position Administrative Assistant Reports To School Principal Basic Functions The Admin Assistant provides comprehensive administrative support. This includes managing schedules, handling correspondence, organizing files, answering phones, preparing documents, and assisting with various office tasks to ensure smooth operations. Provide clerical and organizational support to the transportation department. Enter daily attendance in our attendance programs. Provide secretarial and organizational support to the school, school staff, and principal. Assists with administrative projects and programs that impact and/or involve other organization units and locations. Office‑related experience or relevant coursework relating to the secretarial field. Previous work in an administrative or secretarial role, preferably in an educational setting. First Aid/CPR card within 30 days of hire. Passing Washington State, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Colville Tribal History background checks. Valid Washington State driver’s license and eligibility for Tribal Insurance. Proof of degree, transcripts, and three letters of reference provided with the application. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities General knowledge of state and federal laws and procedures regarding education and tribal governance. Knowledge of basic software. Knowledge of Tribal enterprise and government, department operations, policies, procedures, and calendars. Knowledge of computer‑based software programs that support this level of work, including word processing, spreadsheets, basic presentation graphics, special applications used by the organization unit, and data entry onto custom databases. Sufficient math skills to perform financial and statistical record‑keeping. Strong English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation for professional correspondence. Human relations skills to work productively and cooperatively with diverse teams, exercise patience with internal and external customers, and convey technical concepts. Effective communication, use of office software, and ability to work under high demands in a timely manner. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive student and staff information. Prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in using educational software and learning new systems quickly. Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with students, parents, and visitors. Plan, organize, and prioritize work to meet schedules and timelines. Communicate with management, staff, and the community with patience and courtesy. Drug Testing and Background Checks Position is safety sensitive and is subject to pre‑employment drug testing. The position is also subject to reasonable suspicion and post‑accident drug testing. Preference Tribal member and Indian preference will apply; preference will also be given to honorably discharged veterans who are minimally qualified. Additional Requirements If required, the position requires a valid Washington State driver’s license and eligibility for the Tribes’ vehicle insurance. The position may be subject to pre‑employment background clearances; those clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
