Position : Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Response Driver Location : Houston, TX Pay Rate : $22.00 / Hour Job Schedule Thursday: 03:00 PM – 11:30 PM (fixed shift, six‑month commitment) How This Role Works Fixed‑Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”) : You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six‑month commitment. Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program : In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed. Responsibilities Provide customer service to visitors, customers, and/or employees while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities in a retail location. Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, documenting observations and reporting relevant details to site leadership and/or public emergency services when needed. Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the sales floor, exterior areas, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations. Monitor entrances, exits, and high‑traffic areas for suspicious behavior, access concerns, and/or potential loss‑prevention issues, and communicate with management regarding security‑related matters. Support de‑escalation efforts and assist with handling customer and/or employee concerns, following post orders and Allied Universal protocols during routine operations and unusual events. Minimum Requirements Have at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience, or at least 5 years of armed security‑related experience. Be at least 21 years of age. A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements. Possess a Level III Armed Certification for Texas only. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Participate in industry‑specific security training programs. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
