Administrative Specialist 2 Confidential (Human Resources)

Salary: The salary range for this position is $52,593.71 to $86,166.03 for Schedule A, and $52,593.71 to $81,857.73 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. Remote Work The position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. In addition to installing a multi‑factor authentication app, applicants must have high‑speed home internet access. Responsibilities Assist with recruitment efforts by managing classified and unclassified recruitments. Coordinate and submit position requests. Review resumes and schedule interviews. Monitor and update organizational charts and staffing reports. Onboard new hires. Prepare documentation for disciplinary matters and update the grievance database. Serve as the Vicinage’s Internship Coordinator. Act as a backup payroll coordinator when necessary. Provide administrative support to management. Participate in team or work‑unit meetings. Interpret laws, rules, and policies. Establish work relationships with state agencies and outside organizations. Participate in special projects and serve on committees or task forces. Communicate HR policies, rules, and regulations. Draft correspondence. Maintain regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience, with one year of experience equal to 30 semester hour credits. An associate degree with two years of additional experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree. Applicants approaching their anticipated graduation date may apply; the degree must be completed no later than the start date. Driver's License Applicants must possess a driver’s license valid in New Jersey only if vehicle operation is necessary for essential duties. Authorization to Work US citizenship is not required. Selected candidates must be authorized to work in the US. Background Check Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that includes fingerprinting. Residency Law New hires must establish and maintain principal residence in New Jersey within one year, unless an exemption is granted.
