Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to evaluate the developmental and emotional needs of children and adolescents.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that take into account developmental milestones, family dynamics, and cultural considerations.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), to address issues like anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions to empower parents and caregivers in nurturing supportive environments for their children.

• Collaborate closely with child psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.

• Offer crisis intervention strategies and support during urgent mental health episodes involving your clients.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment pathways, and available community resources.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in line with legal and ethical standards, enabling effective communication among team members.

• Engage actively in team meetings, case consultations, and professional development opportunities to enhance personal and team performance.

• Stay current on best practices, research findings, and developments in the field of child and adolescent mental health.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our primary focus is on children and adolescents facing various mental health challenges. You will work directly with this vulnerable population, helping them address issues such as anxiety, depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and other behavioral concerns. This role is pivotal in contributing to the unit’s goal of promoting psychological resilience and overall well-being in young clients and their families.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York State.

• Minimum of three years of post-licensure experience providing mental health services to children and adolescents.
\n
• A strong understanding of child and adolescent mental health disorders, with a focus on evidence-based treatment modalities and therapeutic techniques.

• Proven experience delivering both individual and family therapy to young clients.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, employing a compassionate and child-centered approach in your practice.

• The ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients and their families in a therapeutic setting.

Compensation and Benefits\n
